Trinizuelan is New Act on Calypso Scene

2017 Carnival season is here the tents are already in full swing and going into week number 3.  Eliminations have come and gone and we’re soon going into the Quarter Finals come Saturday January 28th.

We’ve seen the emergence of some new acts on the scene; one such being Stephan.

Stephan The Trinizuelan - Dominica Love (Art Work)

Stephan, 32, (born Stephan Subero) is originally from Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago. From a very young age, he began to sing in his parents music band at local Christmas shows and as a member of his church choir.  His passion for the art-form was his motivation to grow as a professional artist and performer.

Stephan, a humble, charismatic young man, had his career launched as a member of the international Latin pop music group ‘Equilibrio’.  He also performed with well recognized Latin artist such as Franco De Vita, Wisin y Yandel, Chino y Nacho, Jayko, among others.

In 2011, Stephan relocated to Trinidad and Tobago, where he was recruited as a vocalist in the Caribbean music band ‘Imij & Company’. The band’s goal is to make music that appeals to everybody. Their music is high energy, cross-over soca, including a unique blend of styles such as funk, soca, calypso, rock, new age and Latin.

Following his stint with the band, he moved to Dominica with his family in 2015.   This year, Stephan has gotten into the Calypso arena and is a member of the Stardom Tent.  He is also a Quarter Finalist in this year’s Calypso Monarch Competition and goes by Stephan the Trinizuelan with a song entitled Dominica Love.
